further dealings with these two establishments.

As regards the branches in the Treaty ports of Canton, Shanghai and Tientsin of Messrs. Reuter Brockelmann & Co.¡
branches in the same ports and in the captured port of Tsingtau
of Messrs.Bander Vieler & Co.; the sole establishment of Faust
& Co. in Tientsin: we have done no business with any of them
since April, as you will see from the enclosed table, and have of course not made any shipments to them (ex old contracts)
since the date specified in the Preclamation of the 24 th June.
We would mention however that the two firms, Reuter
Brockelmann & Co. and Bander Wieler & Co. are owing us sums of money amounting to £2,759.4.9. and £215.10.11. respectively
which we shall of course try to recover.
Von Daring Vibel & Co. of Pekin and Tientsin went under
a few years ago, and as for Wm. Keyerink & Co., these people
were so convulsed with rage in September 1914 on account of
the determined British attitude shown by our Mr.Banders in
letters (since printed for private circulation) that any
rapprochement with that firm was long since eliminated from
the bounds of possibility.
